For example, in a certain subset of both groups, members have certain administrative duties and they have to uphold their own personal modes of activity in order to remain within the group.
I was reading Gawande's book on "Being Mortal: Illness, Medicine, and What Matters in the End" and one insight that came up was that nursing homes and prisons' relationships to their inhabitants were quite homologous, not to mention the purpose of their designs. If we look at studies of how to improve prisons in terms of how they impact a prisoner's view of themself and those around them, could we apply these insights(if they're not being done already) to nursing homes or vice versa?
